The function of an evaporator
The evaporator provides several functions. Its primary duty is to remove heat from the inside of your vehicle. A secondary benefit is dehumidification. The evaporator evaporates the liquid refrigerant by absorbing the heat from the vehicle interior air. The evaporator is located in the heating HVAC (Heat-Ventilation-Air-Conditioning) system close to the blower. The interior blower will transport the outside or inside air through the evaporator which then cools down the interior. The air is not only cooled, but also dehumidified. Therefore, the use of air conditioning in the vehicle is not only a reassurance, but also prevents excess moisture from building up in the car.
